One of my favorite parts of Elder D. Todd Christofferson, “The Moral Force of Women” was toward the end, when he said, “Former Young Women general president Margaret D. Nadauld: “The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.”In blurring feminine and masculine differences, we lose the distinct, complementary gifts of women and men that together produce a greater whole.”
I totally agree that we need to learn to embrace the divine differences in gender. We don’t have to compete with each other as much as complete each other. I think that when couples learn how to complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses they go into the realm of the divine. They are able to accomplish things that neither could have separately.
